Ischa Statie (NL, 1998, he/him/they/them) is a queer, bi-cultural performer and maker. In his own work he delves into the sensitivity of the body, crafting imaginative worlds through text, movement, and sound. His movement style combines dynamic partner work, fluid improvisation, and energetic floorwork. Ischa’s queerness and bi-cultural background are strongly represented in his own creations. Ischa thrives on pushing the boundaries of dance, embracing a multidisciplinary and collective approach to performance and creation. Ischa’s work explores themes of softness and intimacy, challenging conventional perspectives to cultivate empathy in a demanding world. Through his performances, he aims to dissolve the barriers between performer and audience, fostering genuine connections.
